Step-by-Step Guide: How to Update Your Aadhaar Card Information Online

To update your Aadhaar card, including any changes to your personal information, you can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).

2. Click on the “Update your Aadhaar” section on the website.

3. On the next page, enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then click on the “Send OTP” button. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number.

4. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and click on the “Submit” button.

5. On the next page, you will be given various options for updating your Aadhaar card. Choose the appropriate option for the information you want to update, such as name, date of birth, address, etc.

6. Fill in the updated information correctly in the respective fields. Make sure to provide supporting documents as proof of the changes you are requesting. For example, if you are updating your address, you may need to provide a valid address proof document.

7. After filling in the required details, upload the supporting documents as per the specifications mentioned on the portal.

8. Review the information you have provided and ensure it is accurate. If everything is correct, click on the “Submit” button.

9. After submitting the update request, you will receive an URN (Update Request Number) on your registered mobile number. Note down this number for future reference.

10. Your update request will be verified by UIDAI, and upon successful verification, your updated Aadhaar card will be sent to your registered address by post.

It is important to note that certain updates, such as biometric information, can only be done at Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centers. For such updates, you may need to visit the nearest Aadhaar center and follow the necessary procedures.

Additionally, it is recommended to keep a copy of the documents submitted and the URN received for reference and tracking purposes.

For any further assistance or clarification, you can contact the Aadhaar helpline or visit the official UIDAI website.
