Alongside the photo, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Aa rahe hai hum, aayega aap bhi [we are coming, you are also invited]. August 11. In theaters. #OMG2.”

Notably, OMG 2 will face tough competition at the box office as it clashes with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, both scheduled for release on the same day. The clash of these highly-anticipated films is sure to set the stage for an intense box office battle.

Akshay Kumar’s announcement received an enthusiastic response from fans and industry peers. Singer B Praak, who has collaborated with the actor on numerous occasions, showed his support by leaving red heart and fiery icons in the comments section.

OMG 2 was initially unveiled by Akshay Kumar and the film’s makers in October 2021. The sequel, helmed by writer-director Amit Rai, seeks the blessings of the eternal energy of Adiyogi for a successful journey.

OMG 2 serves as the follow-up to the 2012 hit film OMG – Oh My God, which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. The first installment revolved around Kanji Lalji Mehta (played by Paresh Rawal), who takes legal action against God for the destruction of his shop in an earthquake. The film also featured Mithun Chakraborty, Govind Namdev, and the late actor Om Puri in special roles, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
